I am a driven student who has just graduated with a degree in philosophy and theology at the University of Oxford. During my degree I was the editor-in-chief of one of the student newspapers, rowed for my college and was an active member of the Socratic Society.
I have been tutoring for the last six years, across numerous subject matters before and during my degree.
I focus primarily on Oxbridge and public school entrance examination and critical thinking but have also had successful students taking their GCSEs and A-Levels in philosophy, religious studies and english.
I tend to mirror the Oxford tutorial system by encouraging my students to come to tutorials prepared with some kind of written work and then allowing them to defend their ideas in a rigorous manner. However, I also acknowledge that some students are more likely to flourish if I treat it more like a one-on-one lecture with the odd question. This is student dependent.
