Josh started teaching my daughter in the beginning of Y13. Her feedback has been very positive, and she appreciates Josh’s thorough lessons. I hope this will help her achieve the grades she aims for. Josh was very helpful as a tutor for my English A-Level as he improved my wider knowledge of the literature that I was studying with extremely helpful insights on context and criticism which I had previously struggled with. The sessions together were enlightening on the texts and I was able to understand it in a way that my classes at school may not have given me, and this different perspective added nuance to my essay writing. His marking and feedback on the essays I sent in were incredibly useful, and going through it together in sessions helped me solidify my knowledge and improve. The essay plans on past questions were also very helpful for my confidence ahead of the exams as I had some great quotes from critics and the texts as well as useful context that I felt as though I could skilfully use in the exam. I secured the grade that I needed for my university offer, so thank you for the help and support.

Joshua is truly a fantastic tutor. He has supported my daughter through GCSEs and is phenomenal. Josh has been a fantastic tutor for our son for the last eight months, helping him with his GCSE English Literature. Josh is an excellent tutor who is experienced, knowledgable and goes out of his way to help my daughter. The discussion aspect of the lessons has improved her textual analysis, which translates to clarity of writing in her essays. This verbal element of thought-provoking discussion is not present at school and has helped her engagement within the subject. He additionally responds quickly to email queries, finding useful material that pushes her potential.

My daughter has been tutored by Joshua during the second year of her A levels in English Literature. He helped her with the structure of her essays, one of her weaker points, providing her with constructive feedback and setting work to encourage her on a weekly basis. He was very generous with his time, by sending additional resources in between sessions regarding her core texts, boosting her knowledge. This resulted in her being able to formulate her ideas more clearly and concisely. He is a well organised and engaged tutor, with his sessions being well structured, comprehensive and thorough. Josh has been a great tutor. Punctual, professional and follows through with every assignment both in person and online. He is smart and an expert in literature, writing, rhetoric and philosophy. Josh is punctual, polite and prepared both for the lesson and with excellent resources to broaden my understanding of the various texts that I study. Through his use of the 'tutorial system', Josh is able to generate insightful and interesting discussion with me about the text I am studying which forces me to share my own ideas and think deeply on the spot, enhancing my understanding of the text in the process. Furthermore, he is also extremely knowledgeable about whatever text I study and even if he hadn't encountered the text before, he would read it in his spare time and develop an expertise in even the smallest of details regarding it. Overall, Josh is a first class tutor combining his in-depth knowledge and skill for English literature with his talent for teaching and puts an enormous of effort amount into helping me succeed both inside and outside the lesson.
