Hello! I’m Joss, I’m a teacher, tutor and trainee counsellor. I’m DBS checked. I graduated in Modern Languages from the University of Cambridge in 2016 and since then I've worked as a translator in Germany, an English teacher in Vietnam and as a German and French teacher to pupils aged 11+. I completed my PGCE in 2021. My specialisms are German, French, Humanities essay writing (History, English), University/Oxbridge entrance for modern languages, Maths.

Tutoring Experience

In addition to my PGCE and 3 years working with teenagers at a London independent school (including organising 3x History/Language trips to Germany) I'm a CELTA qualified EFL instructor and have around 700+ hours classroom experience comprising 1-2-1 tutorials and small group work. I've tutored IELTS prep, CAE, German and Maths 1-2-1.

Tutoring Approach

My experience both as a learner and as a teacher has taught me that rapport breeds confidence. Through establishing a supportive and trusting relationship with my tutees I aim to help them build the confidence to work step-by-step towards their goals.
