I am a Psychology and Philosophy graduate of the University of Oxford, experienced examiner in my subject areas, and an enthusiastic and motivated teacher now working exclusively as a professional private tutor.
Previous educational positions held as subject examiner, subject head of department, and most recently as college principal.
I have experience of tutoring on a face-to-face basis and via distance learning, successfully working intensively with students during the revision period to prepare them for their examinations, as well as over a more sustained course of learning.
I am able to assist with coursework and study skills, and I am an approved A-level examiner in my subject areas.
My flexible approach reflects an understanding tutors need to work with each client as an individual. I believe that a student is often the best person to judge their own strengths and to identify areas for improvement. Therefore, I feel that the best way to work is alongside a student, with their goals firmly in mind. I also know that with an injection of good humour and enthusiasm, learning can often be good fun!
