Jun Hee

My name is Jun and I am a tutor and currently a master's student in the Philosophy of Science at the LSE and a prospective PhD applicant in Philosophy where I plan to continue my teaching career. I am a passionate tutor that applies a focused and holistic approach to each of my tutees to make sure they are best prepared to reach their targets.

Tutoring Experience

I have 5+ years of experience as a tutor during which time I have guided all of my tutees to their target grade/outcome; many of my tutees have gone on to achieve 8's and 9's in (I)GCSE, A*'s in A-Level and 7's in IB, as well as admissions to various selective secondary schools and universities including Oxford, Cambridge and LSE among others.
My speciality is in English Literature and Language as well as other subject areas in the humanities and the social sciences.

Tutoring Approach

My teaching starts with getting to know the tutee and (if applicable) the guardian where we discuss current academic level and targets. Improving in these subjects and in essay writing requires a holistic approach and needs differ for every student. Usually, within two lessons we establish time frames and assessment points for which we set sub-targets. We develop clear points of improvement we work on between each of these points. Depending on the student and their needs, this can vary from covering material and mastering a basic understanding of the subject in question, to specific aspects of essay writing that need to be worked on.
My tutoring style makes the tutee or guardian's needs and goals the focal point. I therefore generally do not take a huge number of tutees as my approach requires full focus on each student and their specific academic needs.
