My name is Karugan Gowrikanthan and I am an Actuary, previously a student at London School of Economics (LSE) reading BSc Mathematics and Economics. My A-Level and GCSE grades are listed below:

A* in A-Level Mathematics
A* in A-Level Further Mathematics
A* in A-Level Economics
Grade 9 in GCSE Mathematics, French, English, Biology, Chemistry and Physics
A* in GCSE Economics

I’m a very friendly and patient tutor who will always break down difficult problems for pupils when needed. I am a motivated individual, who will work hard to ensure my students receive the best experience. As I completed my A-Levels and GCSEs recently, I am very familiar with the specifications and therefore the skills and exam technique required to excel. I attended a comprehensive school and so understand that different students will require different levels of support.

I can also tutor A-Level Further Mathematics.

Please note that if you are willing to take lessons in a group the hourly rate is £20 for A-Level and £15 for GCSE

Tutoring Experience

I have tutored GCSE Mathematics at my school in the past, with a variety of Year 11 students with different target grades. This means I understand the importance of tailoring my lessons according to the student’s ability and preferred way of learning.

Tutoring Approach

In order to excel in both GCSE and A-Level exams, I think it is important to fully understand the content, but also apply this knowledge to new and unfamiliar scenarios. In order to ensure the student understands the content, I will go through the relevant chapters in textbooks and test them. This way, their progress can also tracked.
