I have recently retired from my career in education, which included 12 years as Head of Maths in a selective, highly successful school.
I am a very experienced teacher, having taught in secondary schools and sixth form colleges, in both the state and independent sectors. I am familiar with the requirements of courses for GCSE, IGCSE and A Level, including recent changes, and would also be happy to support those who need enhanced maths skills for university entrance requirements, such as STEP papers or other higher education entrance tests.
I am equally qualified to help those who find Maths difficult or bewildering and enjoyed a period as a personal tutor earlier in my career.
My personal style is friendly and encouraging and my lessons will be structured to cater for the ability and aspirations of my tutee. I will teach any skills or new topics that are required and will identify gaps in understanding and areas which need consolidation. I will aim to boost confidence while increasing understanding.
