I'm a 30 year old Year 4 Primary School Teacher in Frimley who has always had a passion working with children. I currently lead science across a 5 form Junior school.
I am approachable, understanding and believe building a good rapport is key to learning. I am highly organised and as a result produce effective learning sessions.
I have worked in education for 9 and a half years, gaining my QTS. I am currently a Year 4 teacher in an outstanding school. I have previously taught in Year 6 for 5 years and so know the curriculum and requirements of SATs in depth.
I have been tutoring for 8 years now for those who find maths and English a challenge and have witnessed their progress and joy as they begin to understand topics and their confidence flourish. Many of these have been throughout their journey of primary and secondary school.
I also tutor KS3 maths and English and GCSE maths and English.
As a teacher, I try to ensure lessons are as fun and engaging as possible - showing their real-life relevance to motivate pupils. In addition, through maths mastery training that I have undertaken, I understand the importance of pictorial representations within maths to help build reasoning skills and arithmetic (key skills in SATs "reasoning" papers" and throughout GCSE).
I believe building a relationship of trust where students feel safe to make mistakes and learn from own mistakes is crucial for any learning to take place.
