Kayleigh

Hi, I'm Kayleigh!

I'm currently working as a Teaching Assistant and have several years of experience in Psychology with a 2:1 in my undergraduate Psychology degree and a Master of Research in Psychology. During my studies, I have specialised in qualitative psychology and gained experience as a research assistant.

My experience includes the first 6 months of a PhD exploring female gangs in the UK.

I have worked in education since I was a teenager in a variety of settings and enjoy finding new ways to learn. As someone with dyslexia and ADHD, I understand that learning should be adaptive and want to assist you in finding the strategies that will help you reach your goals.

Tutoring Experience

  • Approx 10 years experience of supporting learning at secondary level
  • Experience of mentoring Year 12 Psychology students
  • Experience in planning and teaching both online and in-person
  • Experience working with a wide range of SEND - particularly ASD and ADHD
  • Created, prepared and delivered a lecture on Female Gangs

Tutoring Approach

Learning is not a linear process and looks different for everyone. I work with students to find approaches that suit them and will support them best.

Your first session will focus on what you would like to gain from the sessions, any worries/questions, potential targets and a chance for us to decide if we want to work together. If we both decide to move forward with the sessions we will set SMART (specific, measurable, achievable, realistic/relevant and time-bound) goals. These will help us to structure sessions and see how you're progressing.

I believe a multi-sensory approach can be a fun and productive strategy.

I can also cover revision strategies and creating revision routines/timetables. There will always be a focus on wellbeing alongside this.
