I am from Northern Ireland, so if you like accents, I could be the right tutor for you!
I currently am an Assistant Principal examiner for AQA (paper 2). I am also the Principal examiner for IB ( paper 1). Honestly, I don't think anyone could be better qualified!
I have been teaching for over 25 years and am just at the stage where I am cutting down my hours, even though I am only 50! I have always taught both Psychology and Biology. I have led a psychology department for over half that time.
I am so proud of how all my students have done over the years, but in the last couple of years I overextended myself and took on extra tutees, to try and help those that had struggled during lockdown. I am always absolutely thrilled when students achieve the grades they need for Uni.

Tutoring Experience

I have taught psychology for 25 years at sixth form colleges in Southampton. I am also a senior examiner for AQA and IB.

Tutoring Approach

I always establish the areas that a tutee feels least confident with and together we write a list of what is to be covered in the sessions. We would go through the material that they have covered in school/college and add in any clarifications and fill in any gaps. Then I always like to use past paper questions to work through together to check their understanding.
I am happy to mark these papers at home or together.
