I am a secondary school chemistry teacher based in Edinburgh and I have been teaching for 10 years. I studied Chemistry with Medicinal Chemistry at Glasgow University and graduated in 2014. After my degree I competed my PGDE at Strathclyde University and have been teaching full time since.

Tutoring Experience

I am a full time secondary school Chemistry and Biology teacher. I have had experience teaching in inner city schools and rural schools. Throughout my teaching career I have been responsible for teaching National 5 to Advanced Higher Chemistry giving me experience with the subject as well as the layout of the exams. I know the content covered for all exams and how to prepare pupils for sitting these exams. I also have experience marking for the SQA for Chemistry.

Tutoring Approach

Every student will need a different approach which is why it is essential to identify what every student wants to gain from tutoring. I have tutored pupils at both national 5 and higher levels previously building up a bank or resources and approaches to helping students. Most students are working towards exams so we will cover the course content and work with past papers to develop confidence, knowledge and understanding of the course and the exam layout.
