Hello! My name is Kiryl. I'm an undergraduate student currently studying Aeronautical Engineering at Imperial College London. I'm in my first year and am so far loving the challenging concepts we're being taught. I have always loved Maths, so much so that I completed my GCSE and A-level in it a year earlier than most. I achieved all A* in GCSE and A-level. In my spare time, I enjoy reading, researching, and playing chess.
As I completed my GCSE and A-level exams earlier, I spent a large amount of time tutoring classmates who felt they were less competent or had less confidence in Mathematics. Many then went on to achieve an A or an A*, saying that I helped them significantly in understanding concepts they didn't before. In Year 12, I helped teach the year below maths that would mainly make them more interested in pursuing Maths further into college, by showing them more advanced concepts and reteaching them what they didn't understand in a more coherent way.
Firstly, an objective is needed. This could be boost confidence, help teach concepts they didn't understand when they were first taught, improve your grade, and increase curiosity in the subject, encouraging them to possibly pursue it in University by doing a STEM subject. Based on the goal, I will explore what the tutee needs, their weaknesses and strengths, and focus on eliminating the weaknesses, while also boosting confidence and praising mistakes as an opportunity to improve.
