Hi my name is Sunny, I am a university third year student and study Mechanical Engineering. I enjoy talking to new people and have passion to help you succeed in the things you want to succeed in.
My most memorable days of teaching was during my cadets from year 11 till year 13. I had been assigned to teach the army cadet sections from year 9 (small taster sessions) to year 11. They would consist of things learning to march, how to handle a weapon, medical lessons etc. I have also tutored for my niece, who is now doing the 11+ for Maths and I'm hoping as they years goes by to teach her more as she goes into secondary school. I would make worksheets for her to do spending more time to push her to her best. My teaching methods had all came from the tutors my parents have given me and I have remembered the way they taught me and had adapted them for my niece and my little brother as well.
My philosophy for teaching children have stemmed from teaching cadets in secondary and the way my teachers have taught me. I always believe that if I am going to teach specific areas, the best way is a presentation to help the student learn. When it comes to learning, active learning has always worked the best as I had always had lots of success teaching like that in cadets. Allow them to work on things not too hard but enough to make them think and be active to allow it to go into their long term memory. I am also a big fan in making custom worksheets for people as everyone has their own way of learning and its a teachers job to make it easier for students to understand. When it comes to teaching I believe in planning ahead so before a lesson happens I would like to know what part the student struggles on and make a worksheet or plan a lesson out which I hope will help with understanding the subject better.
