I live in Dartford with my family and currently work near Chislehurst, so can travel from either location depending on time and day.
I am an English teacher with 9 years' experience. I have been a Head of English, and am now a member of the leadership team at a private school in south east London. I have taught GCSE English Language and Literature (AQA), iGCSE English Language and Literature (Edexcel), A-Level English Literature (Edexcel) and IB English Language and Literature. I have 3 years of experience as an examiner for AQA in English Language.
I teach actively, through live modelling of writing and planning. I use targeted questioning in a 1:1 setting to generate discussion and the development of ideas. I do not often use PowerPoint or similar presentation programmes as I believe that these contribute to lazy teaching generally, and also that they are ineffective in a 1:1 setting.
