I have a BA (Hons) in Philosophy Religion and Ethics, a Masters in Christian Theology, and a PGCE in teaching Religious Studies obtained from UCL. I tutored at the University of London, at Heythrop College: a specialist philosophy and theology college, for 6 years, and I am now a full time Head of Department for Religious Studies at a multi-site school in London, which boasts consistently excellent grades at both GCSE and A Level, and a consultant RE teacher.
I specialize in tutoring GCSE and A Level Religious Studies for: AQA, Edexcel, OCR, and Eduqas. I have also taught the CCEA specification. I accept university students, depending on the area of study, for philosophy, theology and academic study skills.
As a private tutor, I have successfully prepared students studying for exams under the AQA, Edexcel, OCR, Eduqas and CCEA exam-boards for: A Level, AS and GCSE. I have also tutored students from a range of universities who are studying for BA degrees in Philosophy, Theology, Divinity and combinations of these subjects.
I have tutored many students preparing for entrance examinations, with successful entry. The most prestigious of which would be the Eton entrance exams, of which I have taught the following papers: General I, General II, English and the Divinity element of the 'Divinity, Geography and History exam'.
I also currently offer tuition for ABRSM piano Grades and A Level Music: piano; the performance element.
I have progressed through many roles within education since I first taught in 2006. These include: a peripatetic piano teacher, a secondary school teacher for K.S 3-5, an English language tutor at a specialist school in Kensington, a religious studies subject advisor, an examiner for multiple exam boards, and an academic study skills tutor at The University of London.
My tutoring approach is grounded upon my approach to life; I believe education is a powerful tool that empowers people to achieve their potential and lead fulfilling lives. I strongly believe in a combination of academic success, paired with life experiences - neither can stand alone in a holistic education. While my primary goal is to better the student through academia, this is not, I believe, possible without a tailored teaching experience that revolves around students' personal interests, their unique abilities and passions. To this end, I allow students to explore the syllabus in a way that is personal. Then, education truly becomes beautiful.
As well as being committed to my students, I am concerned with local and national citizenship; I use 100% renewable electricity for all remote tutorials, and offer a discount to Blue Light Card holders.
