I am an experienced and supportive biology tutor. In 2004, I completed a BA in Natural Sciences and Biological Anthropology at the University of Cambridge. In 2006, I completed a Masters in Epidemiology at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine and, in 2010, I completed a PhD in Epidemiology at Imperial College London. I have published my research findings in top medical journals including The Lancet and Social Science & Medicine. Since 2015, I have worked as a Mental Health Care Coordinator and gained a professional diploma from Middlesex University. I am currently writing a book on the relationship between care work and psychotherapy. I look forward to helping students and families achieve their goals with my sensitive and student-centred approach.
I have a variety of teaching experience. I have tutored GCSE and A-level biology since 2005. I have organised and lectured on undergraduate and postgraduate courses in the Faculty of Medicine at Imperial College London and have supervised students at BSc, MSc and PhD levels. I have also supported students with Oxbridge applications including interview preparation and help with personal statements.
A combination of academic excellence, extensive teaching experience and awareness of the importance of student mental wellbeing underpins my work as a biology tutor. I am approachable and supportive. I enjoy working with young people and have particular experience working with those who might be struggling or experiencing anxiety at school. I try to tailor my tuition to the needs of each individual student. I always have a strong focus on developing exam technique, which can be useful for a range of academic subjects. I have a passion for biology and I hope to inspire the same in my students!
