I am an enthusiastic programmer and web developer turned Computer Science teacher, who has been teaching in secondary schools for the last 9 years. Previously I have programmed in many different languages (Python, JavaScript, PHP, VB.Net) but find it much more interesting teaching people to code. Working with young people is so fulfilling and I have an easy going nature and good sense of humour which helps,
I was very recently the Head of Department for Computing at a prestigious independent school In Bath. Previously I worked at the local boys' school.
I am currently working remotely as a Learning Manager for the Raspberry Pi Foundation in the Ada Computer Science team.
I have taught OCR GCSE Computer Science (J276 and J277) and both OCR and AQA A level Computer Science qualifications with my students going on to gain exceptional results. Often, they choose to continue studying this subject at degree level.
I also regularly work for AQA as an examiner marking the Python Programming papers each year.
I try to foster a new way of looking at topics of the curriculum and enjoy making "dry" subjects fun. I also love programming and helping students spot bugs in their code. I am keen on helping students understand how they can maximise their marks in their programming projects for A Level and I love teaching students how to code, using fun and engaging methods
