Hi there, my name is Laura, I am a native Mandarin speaker, and I have trained as International Chinese Teacher from Beijing University of Language and CultureI, which is the university with longest history, biggest faculty and prestigious reputation in Chinese language teaching around the world.

I have studied internationally, I have gained a MBA degree in US, a merit Master degree in UK, and a cum laude BA degree in the Netherlands.

Tutoring Experience

I have been teaching Chinese for almost 10 years now, and I have became a dedicated Mandarin tutor since 2014. Most of my classes are one to one either face to face or online. I also have taught group classes.

My students range from primary school children, to university students and professionals. They all come from different background, and have different experience and knowledge with Mandarin. I do spend time with them to communicate the goal of their Mandarin learning, the best way of learning and together we build a learning plan.

I have taught HSK level 1 and level 2, so far I have received 100% positive feedback from my students.

I am easy-going and have a sense of humour, my students alway enjoy the examples I gave them and the stories behind the language. I believe this helps them to understand the language and find a bit fun to learn the language.

Tutoring Approach

My teaching style is relaxed, fun and easy to follow, I do believe learning a new language needs lots of encouragement from the teacher or tutor to make it a fun experience. I put the language into the daily life conversation which would help students to practise, language needs to be listened and spoken.

I am happy to tailor the teaching and class to individual student's needs and experience.
