I have been teaching for eighteen years. I taught in the secondary sector for three years up to GCSE level, I worked at Leyton Sixth Form College as a head of languages teaching French and Italian for 10 years. I have taught privately for the past 5 years. All levels.
During this time, I have been fortunate enough not only to be able to teach French at AS/A2 and NVQ Level and Italian at beginners’ level but, to experience fully the wider aspects of the college by being responsible for different tutor groups and liaising with the Pastoral/ Support team. This has allowed me to develop my tutoring skills on a one to one basis.
In 2005, I was promoted Assistant Programme manager for Languages. My main role has been to support, monitor and induct new staff to ensure that high standards are maintained throughout all aspects of the department.

Over the years, I have taken an active part in marketing, extended liaisons with our local feeder schools, organising school visits and produced various marketing materials. This has helped us improve our recruitment.
As well as links with secondary schools, I have also established contacts in Higher education. I have taught sessions at Queen Mary University as part of the Aim Higher scheme and I arranged for lecturers from various universities to come and talk to our students during Progression week. This has developed my understanding of language teaching requirements at University level, aspects of which I have incorporated in my lessons.
As a teacher, I endeavour to provide a high quality learning experience for students, adopting a variety of teaching approaches and activities and developing a good relationship with them so that they are given equal opportunity and support to achieve their full potential.
I consider myself to be a reliable and hard working teacher. I have effective communication and administrative skills that help me to plan ahead and meet required deadlines.
