I am a student coming to the end of my degree in English and American studies, specialising in literature. I am a keen reader and very passionate about the English language and its intricacies. Looking to go into a career of teaching English, I want to expand my tuition portfolio by providing quality and personalised online tutoring.

Tutoring Experience

I have studied English language acquisition at university both as a primary and as a secondary language. I have been put in responsibility of large groups of young secondary school students when at school and can handle myself well with a variety of age groups. Additionally, I have taught English abroad in Africa, and have tutored family friends ad hoc for a few years.

Tutoring Approach

As I have seen both sides of the tuition industry, I know the value in the detail of each step of the process. I derive great pleasure from studying the marking process and content of the level of study the student is in, and personalise lessons accordingly. I believe that each student learns best in different ways, and it is imperative to find what works most effectively for each student and allow that to form the teaching strategy. I am patient and can find the balance between going at the student's pace, while still gently applying pressure to keep them on track and up to speed.
