I am a qualified (QTS) teacher with a first-class honours degree, and several post-graduate diplomas and certificates (including the SENDCo and NPQH qualifications) I hold a current DBS certificate, am registered with the update service and undertake safeguarding training on an annual basis.
I am currently employed as a Deputy Headteacher and SENDco. I have successfully taught in both mainstream primary and secondary schools and in specialist settings from Key Stage 1 to Key Stage 4, with the majority of my students making accelerated progress. My teaching has consistently been judge to be outstanding. I have tutored friends and family's children at primary, 11+ and GCSE level. Students that I have tutored have achieved 2 grades higher than predicted grades and passed the 11+ in both Essex and East London. I am just starting to offer tutoring on a more formal basis.
As a teacher and mother I understand the challenges of education and public exams and the importance of preparation being undertaken with academic rigour, whilst ensuring that young people’s wellbeing is at the centre of the process. I am able to target tutoring for students to challenge them to achieve their full potential. As a SENDCo I am skilled at using a range of teaching methods to suit different children's learning styles. As a result of my own attendance at a grammar school and academic success I also understand how to succeed at the highest level and am able to support students, no matter what their academic starting point.
