Hey! I’m Lewis, a mathematics graduate and experienced tutor providing one-to-one online GCSE, A-level and University mathematics tuition.

Tutoring Experience

I have 3 years’ experience — providing nearly hours’ tutoring in this time — and I have helped raise 15+ students' grades by several. My academic background in mathematics is strong, including:
- University: First-class Master’s degree in Mathematics from the University of Sheffield;
- A-levels: A* in A-level Mathematics and A in AS-level Further Mathematics;
- GCSEs: 9 in GCSE Mathematics, A in GCSE Statistics and A in GCSE Physics.
I also have a recent Enhanced DBS check, which I can provide on request (as well as any qualifications).

Tutoring Approach

My tutoring sessions are centred around the needs of each student – everyone has different mathematical strengths and weaknesses, so I tailor my tutoring to accommodate these. In general, I will ask students about the topics they are struggling with in advance, and a typical session would then begin with me explaining these, deriving formulae and highlighting common mistakes. As practice is so important in mathematics, I will spend the majority of each session working through practice questions with students to ensure full understanding.
