Hi, I'm Linda, an English teacher who loves the intricacies of the English language. Before training as a teacher, I worked as a journalist and public relations consultant and therefore know how to manipulate vocabulary and texts for real-world purposes, and how writers do this to manipulate us! I also love sharing the language and culture of the country with international students and can appreciate how difficult moving to a different country can be - you will have every support from me.
I have taught English for 20 years in state and independent schools in the UK and Europe. My experience includes teaching GCSE and iGCSE English Language and Literature, IB MYP English Language Acquisition, IB Diploma English B, IELTS and Cambridge English exams. I have also helped numerous international students make the transition into the UK education system and adapt to the cultural and educational differences that can, at times, be difficult to navigate.
We start with confidence and trust and create a comfortable learning space. We celebrate strengths and successes before deciding together on our focus for development and regularly review progress. I make tuition sessions as interesting and entertaining as possible as ultimately, if I don't enjoy the sessions, than neither will my student.
