Online Maths and Physics Tuition

Professional Maths, Physics and Chemistry (GCSE) tutor. I'm friendly and reliable, and I would love to help build your/your child’s confidence in these subjects.

I have secure subject knowledge, having completed A-levels in Maths, Further Maths, Physics and Chemistry at St Paul’s School in 2017, before going on to complete a BEng in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Bristol (2:1 grade). I am now completing a Postgraduate Certificate in Education in Secondary Maths, also at the University of Bristol.

My lessons are online on either Microsoft Teams or Zoom, and my rates are £70/h for up to GCSE level and £80/h for A-Level.

Please drop me an email/message if you are interested, or if you have any questions!

Tutoring Experience

I have experience teaching Maths and Science in schools and I have also been tutoring 1-to-1 in Maths and Science for over 4 years.

I was a full-time Science Teacher at Summer Fields School, Oxford, for 1 year.
I have taught Maths in various Bristol Secondary schools as part of my PGCE course, and I am DBS checked.

I have also been tutoring for over 4 years, and have had lots of positive feedback from previous clients:

“My son was really struggling and Louis was an excellent tutor for him. Louis was patient and thorough and explained everything clearly. My son enjoyed his sessions and his grades improved enormously, along with his confidence in the subject. Such a transformation for him, well worth it!”
KG, Parent, King’s College School, Wimbledon

“Louis tutored my son A-Level Physics. He was very good, making my son feel comfortable with the subject and helped him to gain confidence – as a result, he attained a very good grade. He’s a gifted tutor and students seem to love him.”
PR, Parent, St Paul’s School, London

“It is a pleasure to have Louis as a tutor for our son, Yago, for GCSE and 6th form. He is always kind and patient. Louis helped Yago to build his confidence in preparation for his exams and helped him get better grades.”
CM, Parent, The Fulham Boys School

“Louis was a very good tutor and helped me improve my grades whilst also making the lessons interesting and enjoyable.”
JG, Pupil, King’s College School, Wimbledon

Tutoring Approach

My tutoring approach is student focused. My role is to support the specific needs of you/your child to help them to build their confidence using a range of teaching methods.

I will typically begin the first session with a brief conversation in which I hope to get to know the student and understand which areas they feel less confident in, before using some brief diagnostic questions to assess their level of understanding in these areas.

From here, I can deliver bespoke teaching on these topics with a range of teaching methods including slides, "My turn, your turn" worked examples, graphic representations, practice questions, self-marking, spot the error exercises and oral explanation. I can also recommend online resources to practice outside of our sessions.

My goal is to tailor my support to you/your child, by identifying the approach that suits them best, as the needs of every learner are different! In this way, I want to ensure you//your child gets the most out of our sessions and that they can feel their confidence and ability improving.

Maths, Physics and Chemistry can be daunting and difficult subjects to tackle and I want to help you/your child become more comfortable with the subject and boost confidence, and consequently improve attainment too!
