I am a warm, enthusiastic and fun individual who enjoys a variety of sports and of course, like most English teachers, reading.
I am an avid traveller having visited North and South America, Asia and Africa. Where possible I try to bring these experiences into my teaching to add variety.
I have just returned from living in West Africa with my husband and children where I was leading education development for a charity.
I have been an English teacher for 13 years and taught ages 11-18. I teach both English Literature and English Language.
I have taught exam classes at both GCSE and A Level for each year I have been teaching and have an excellent track record for pass rates with a good percentage of students achieving grades above their expectation.
I am a passionate individual who cares greatly about the education and well being of young people. I have worked hard to ensure my skills as a teacher are polished and allow students to reach their full potential.
My teaching approach allows students to immediately apply what they have been taught to ensure they have learnt it. This is done through various methods including reading, writing and speaking.
I am a firm believer in students enjoying what they are learning and being able to recall it with positivity and confidence.
