I’ve been a primary school teacher for 11 years plus and love to teach. I have experience in both KS1 and KS2 with my favourite year group to teach being Year 6.

I cover the whole National Curriculum and have a particular passion for reading (I have been Reading Lead at two of my schools during my career). All lessons are bespoke to each child or adult’s learning and educational needs.

Tutoring Experience

I have taught in both KS1 and KS2, ranging from teaching phonics to Year 6 SATs.
The schools I have worked in have been very diverse so I have experience working with children with different abilities, as well as teaching children who have English as an additional language.
I have been the Reading Lead for several years and have a great passion for inspiring children to read, as well as supporting them with learning to read (including both fluency and comprehension).

Tutoring Approach

My favourite aspect of teaching is the “lightbulb moment” when children finally understand a new/tricky concept.

I am a visual learner myself so know how important it is to break down new learning and demonstrate in as many smaller steps as necessary. I also love to make learning fun and engaging so expect lots of games and challenges.
