I am a mum of two boys who gave up classroom teaching to be at home. I love languages and enjoy meeting new people, helping them gain confidence and improve their language skills.

Tutoring Experience

I am a qualified German teacher, having taught German in two secondary schools across Dorset. Being half German, I am fluent with experience of both private tuition to can teach all ages and abilities. I was not raised bilingually but had to learn at school like everyone else. I only became fluent by living in Germany for some time. Whilst living in Germany I taught English in a private language school and took over all the lessons in this subject at the school. I was popular as the students liked my style of teaching with my sense of fun and use of everyday relevant language.

Tutoring Approach

I feel I have a warm engaging approach with students recommending me too there’s and returning to me to continue to improve their language skills. I understand the difficulties there are with learning a language and make easy-to-understand examples to work with. I make the language relevant to them and their interests and, believe it or not I make the grammar fun! I love syntax, grammatical structure and rules of language and I help my students grasp this, ensuring they progress in the language in a positive confident manner.
Classes are taught using a mix of conversation, listening, writing and reading with interesting topics and stimulating material to generate discussions, linguistic analysis and ultimate confidence, grasp and improvement of the language.
