My name is Luke, I graduated from Hull University in Sports, Health and Exercise Science (BSC). I currently teach 14-21 year old's at an alternative education provision, my focus being SEN, counselling, mentoring and sports. I am a father of two small children. I keep a very active life style, such as long distance running and being part of a rugby team.
My main role is to provide pastoral care and mentoring to vulnerable young people with SEN and EHCP needs. I have taught physical education to ages 5-20 years for 10 years with SEN experience. I have overseen the delivery of NCFE, AQA and Pearson Level 1-3 qualifications in 4 different education providers, including an U19's football academy and a community charity.
My approach is a student centered approach that incorporates the interests of the student to create fun and engaging sessions. My main expertise include working with challenging behaviour and creating a motivation to learn and grow as my clients not only aim to achieve academically, but they require personal development in areas such as behaviour and social skills. incorporating memory games and quiz apps in my sessions as a form of measurable progression is my favorite way to embed learning and keep engagement high.
