I am an applied mathematician / mathematical physicist with a decade's experience in the field. I have worked both in academia at the University of Leicester and University of East Anglia as well as working in industry as a consultant mathematician. I also conduct my current research and lecture at the University of Durham.
I have also recently been honoured as a University Fellow at the University of Leicester. Removed
I have tutored privately for almost a decade a wide range of students of varying ages and abilities.
I currently teach A-Level Mathematics and Physics and also have experience in teaching STEP (Cambridge externe exams) I have experience in teaching students at university level mathematics and physics as well as providing them dissertation support.
While lecturing at university I have successfully supervised 4 students to completion of their Master's Thesis' 3 of which received distinction grades. My latest university students' results are distinctions with 90% in recent exams.
I believe that teaching should be done based on understanding rather than regurgitative learning. Many students have said to me that they have a bad memory so struggle but the beauty about mathematics and phyiscs is that you don't need to remember anything since if you understand it you can work it all out.
I develop this fundamental understanding for students and help them embrace both knowledge and problem solving type questions.
