I am a fully qualified English Teacher who has worked in secondary schools, colleges and universities in the UK for over twenty years. I have also also worked as an English Advisor, a role which involves supporting educational institutions to develop pupils'/ students' language and literary skills, and I have marked for the SQA. I have successfully tutored many students and pupils on a one to one basis since the start of my career and now work online, finding this a beneficial approach for my students as we share insights and ideas. I aim to provide stimulating lessons and to foster a love of language and literature that will not only support those sitting exams but will also last a lifetime. I am currently working towards my Teaching English as a Foreign Language qualification and have studied Italian and French for over eight years.
I also love theatre, horse riding, yoga and my two dogs, Ben and Teddy

Tutoring Approach

I adpt a personal, friendly, learner-focused approach which is designed to build confidence in students while they master reading, writing and talking skills. I aim to encourage independent thinking and support effective communication while building trust. I always aim to cultivate a warm relationship with students, which encourages them to develop a love of the subject.
