I am a highly experienced language teacher who now specialises in providing individual tuition in Italian for all age groups and purposes. With a background in running English training courses for professional/ businesspeople and trainees from all over Europe, I also offer support and tuition in English as a foreign language for general or professional purposes.

I provide preparation and revision classes for A Level, IB and university exams in Italian, and EFL (FCE, CAE and CPE) and other public exams. I have extensive experience of creating and teaching tailormade courses in modern foreign languages which builds on a career in the management and teaching of English as a foreign language.#/k#

Tutoring Experience

Having left university with a degree in French, I was an English teacher and translator in Italy for three years . Back in the UK I have taught for many different language schools and organisations, managed a Kent Country Council European training programme and run my own language training business.

For the last 18 years I have worked as a freelance language tutor specialising in providing revision and support classes in French, Italian and English for KS2/3, GCSE, IB, A and undergraduate levels. I have been an OCR and Edexcel examiner for GCSE English and SATS and have marked ESOL exams for the University of Cambridge.
I now specialise in teaching Italian and TEFL to adults at any level from absolute beginner to advanced and for any purpose.

Tutoring Approach

Individual tuition is the clear choice for those who want to make real, consistent progress with a language : it enables learners to fill gaps in their knowledge, clarify unclear areas and enforce what they have already learned.

In the case of adults learning a language, I move at the pace they wish and use an approach which relates to their individual learning style and interest areas - whilst enabling them to learn in as useful and successful a way as possible. Every client is provided with a wide range of bespoke material to meet their individual interests and this personalised approach enables a rapid grasp of basic language - which is underpinned by an overview of essential grammar elements. Overall I aim to provide an effective, enjoyable and intellectually stimulating route to learning a language.
