Whilst currently studying a joint bachelors and master’s degree, I have enjoyed the fact that I have been able to deep dive into a subject of my interest. I can see how my degree links with my lower school education and how a strong foundation of education helped to get me to where I am now. Knowing the importance of having a fortified foundation of knowledge, I want to not only assist students in closing the gaps in their knowledge but also give them the skills to do this independently.

Tutoring Experience

I have almost 3 years experience tutoring and mentoring young people and have worked with various companies over the years teaching different topics. However, I now primarily focus on Maths and sciences as this is my area of expertise and this content underpins my current degree knowledge in dentistry.

Tutoring Approach

Having been the student as well as the teacher, I believe I have an insight into various aspects of tutoring which are and are not productive. My experience working with students has helped me to develop my communication and organisation skills, which I believe are key to develop an effective study programme.

I believe that targets need to be set for there to be progression in the right direction. Therefore, with my students my objective is to do this by regularly assessing how well they have grasped concepts and finding suitable ways to consolidate their knowledge. In addition, I regularly update parents/guardians on the student’s progress, as it allows them to be involved in their child’s learning and is an opportunity for feedback, which I welcome.
