Private Online Medicine Tuition

I'm an Oxford medical school graduate with experience working as a doctor in central London teaching hospitals.
I also have several years experience in tutoring clinical medical students at my old Oxford college.

I have passed MRCP part 1 (first sitting) with a score of 809- this ranks within the top 5% of candidates.

Here is a summary of my academic achievements during medical school:
During my preclinical medical studies, I came 6th in the year (154 total) in 1st year and 2nd in 2nd year, receiving the proxime accessit Gibbs prize. I also received a college scholarship and college prize in both of these years. In my intercalated year, I studied for a BA in medical sciences (focusing on neuroscience), obtaining first class honours. During clinical school, I came 6th in the year in my laboratory medicine exam in 4th year. In 5th year, I came 1st in the year in the written exam for neurology/ophthalmology/ENT. In 6th year, I came 4th in the year in my final medicine and surgery written exams.

Tutoring Experience

I have several years experience in tutoring clinical medical students at my old Oxford college.
During my preclinical years, I held anatomy tutorials for younger years. During clinical school, I tutored for several societies (including Oxford Society for Medical Education and Hugh Cairns Surgical Society), teaching subjects including laboratory medicine, ECG/X-ray interpretation and physical exams. In my final year I participated in an intense medical education programme, where I tutored 6 new clinical students.

Tutoring Approach

I believe everyone learns differently, and it's important to have a flexible approach to take this into account. However, I believe good tutors encourage active participation, both to encourage creative thinking and ensure proper understanding. Concepts stick much better if you play a primary role in lessons, with the tutor as a facilitator rather than just a lecturer.
