Hi, I’m Maia, and I have just completed A levels in Biology (A), Chemistry (A) and psychology (A*) as well as an EPQ (A*). I am going to study neuroscience at the University of Bristol in September. I want students to feel comfortable asking questions or asking for help and clarification as well as enjoying their subjects. Hopefully, I can help each child work towards their goals and become successful in their subjects. I am also able to teach specifically for exams, as I have recently completed my A levels and therefore know how to teach to enable a student to excel. In particular, I am familiar with the exam board AQA, for both GCSE and A level subjects.
I have experience in working with students in a sporting and pastoral setting, so am able to know what is engaging for students and how best to teach to ensure they remain interested in their subjects. I have also tutored a few students in the past, helping with specific topics they may be unsure on.
I am able to tailor each lesson to every individual student based on what they feel will benefit them most. I am a friendly and supportive person, and will ensure that lessons are engaging, and that resources used match the specification of the student’s syllabus, to help exam preparation. In a typical lesson, I would cover any topics that students wanted to go through, making sure they have a strong understanding, before moving on to exam practise questions to help enhance exam technique.
