Hello! I’m Marie and I’m really passionate about helping students grow in confidence and achieve their goals. When I’m not teaching, you’ll often find me on the netball court, reading a new book, or enjoying a long autumn walk with a hot chocolate. English is my favourite subject to teach, as it gives me the chance to spark creativity and share new ideas with students. I also enjoy teaching art because it allows us to get hands-on, creative, and have fun in the process! In addition to teaching French, I’m currently learning Spanish and proud to say I’ve kept up a Duolingo streak of 126 days! I am super excited to put this to the test on holiday!
I have worked with children in a variety of roles, which has given me a strong understanding of how to meet each child’s individual needs. I began as a SEN 1:1, where I developed strategies to support children with a range of additional needs and ensure they felt confident and included in their learning. I then became a Learning Support Assistant, leading small groups as well as providing 1:1 support to help children make progress. After completing my PGCE with Teach First, I gained classroom experience from the very start of my training and went on to qualify as a teacher. I am now an Early Career Teacher in lower key stage 2 where I continue to create a supportive, encouraging environment to help children thrive both academically and personally.
My teaching approach is focused on helping children feel supported, motivated, and confident in their learning. I take time to understand each child’s individual needs and adapt my lessons so that they can make steady progress at their own pace. I value creativity and positivity in the classroom, and I work hard to create an environment where children not only achieve academically but also enjoy the learning process.
