I am 50 years old, married and I have a 13-year old son. I love teaching English and I have been doing it for more than 20 years at all levels: I have worked with students from 10 to 70 years old. I am an excellent communicator and believe in mutual trust. Currently, I am teaching GCSE English to KS3 and KS4 students in a main stream state school in Hampshire.
I started my career at a local high school and after 1 and 1/2 years I moved to university where I taught for 18 years. I have taught General English, ESP, AE, Business English, EFL, Linguistics, Lexicology, Morphology, Semantics, Stylistics, Translation Studies, GCSE English (KS3 and KS4), GCSE History (Year 10), and RE (KS3).
Tutoring is probably one of the most demanding as well as rewarding jobs. Each of my students is unique and has personal needs. My teaching philosophy is to put the needs of my student to the core of all the educational process. Patience, resilience and a good sense of humour: these are my main teaching pillars.
