A devotion to lifelong learning and a desire to inspire young minds have always been the driving force behind my passion for teaching. I have had the opportunity to impart my knowledge and relational understanding of all primary subjects over the last eight years as a primary school teacher. I have worked across Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 extensively and have led Maths for the last three years so I have a thorough understanding of the National Curriculum. I believe that everyone is capable of achieving well with the right support. My teaching experience has allowed me to identify the different needs of children and adapt my teaching style and approaches to accommodate for their learning.
I am a fully qualified teacher (Primary QTS) and have taught in the UK for 8 years in Primary Schools. I have taught in both KS1 and KS2, suporting children to make significant progress.
My teaching experience includes preparation for the year 2 and 6 SATs, the year 4 multiplication check aswell as supporting children with the 11+ for grammar school's entrance exams. I am able to teach Maths (arithmetic, reasoning), English (phonics, reading & comprehension & SPAG) and any other Primary Foundation Subject.
I will use the first session to assess the pupil's attainment so that I can highlight any gaps in their learning. Any areas of weakness will remain part of the focus of all lessons as we continue to visit these to ensure learning has been embedded.
I have found that by forming a bond of mutual respect and adopting effective communication with my pupils, an environment where students are able to express themselves by asking questions and explore new ideas is created.
My experiences have allowed me to interact and support children witt various tasks and help to nourish an ethos of ‘I can do it’. I use a step-by-step or ‘bite-size’ approach as an effective method to simplify complex topics.
