Hello my name is Matt. I have always enjoyed helping my students get to the next level. This has not only made my students better but it has given them more confidence and enjoyment in the subject of Mathematics. This gives me great fulfilment that I've made an impact in their studies.

I also enjoy running and plenty of walking outside of tutoring. What's good for the body is also great for the mind!

I spend a lot of time keeping up to date with the latest cutting edge research of Mathematics at degree and even Masters level. As much I like to constantly be challenged, I never stop learning and I want to become a better Mathematician!

Tutoring Experience

I'm a former Secondary School Mathematics Teacher and I offer intensive tutoring in Mathematics.

I graduated in Mathematics at The University of Edinburgh back in 2009 with over 14 years of online teaching experience.

I've always enjoyed helping students with their studies especially Mathematics as it's a subject I enjoy teaching.

I've been a school teacher for coming up to a year and over the past 14 years I have been teaching Mathematics as a private tutor online and I've been teaching on Preply for the past year.

I'm a very patient teacher as I understand the difficulties that very often arise. Nothing gives me more satisfaction than watching my students progress forward. I like to think that I can be at the students level and we can both progress forward together with various hints and ways of getting the student to progress to the next level.

I conduct my lessons by sharing my screen with the students. We then go through each of the problem in turn where I offer hints and ways in which they can tackle a problem in a way that is easy for the student to understand.

I find past exam papers are the best way to learn and give the students the confidence they need to pass their exams and even exceed their expectations.

I also specialize in the University of Cambridge entrance papers such as the Sixth Term Examination Paper. This is a field I enjoy keeping up to date with which is something I would be glad to potentially help the student with.

I also have a YouTube channel where I'm currently teaching Mathematics. This is an online teaching resource which I constantly enjoy adding content to. If there's any particular problems my subscribers or my students want a solution to I am always willing post a video giving a detailed solution and break down of the topic.

I would like to add that I'm only interesting in teaching students short to long term. If your intention is to just have the one lesson (which I completely understand with last minute exams etc. ), it would be appreciated if you didn't book any trial lessons with me. This keeps my reputation score good and allows me to plan around other students!

I like to build relationships with my students as I generally want them progress forward. I've got a really high success rate during the period I've been teaching on Preply and most of my students are continuing to have lessons after almost a year!
