I am a second-year student studying Biochemistry at the Univerisity of Bristol. I completed my A levels in Biology, Chemistry, Maths and an Extended Project a number of years ago (achieving A*AAA* respectively.
I frequently tutor my younger brother (currently in the middle of his GCSE year). After finding it rather rewarding seeing the progress he was making I thought I'd take it further.
I have also been very heavily involved in hockey coaching both paid and voluntary so I am familiar in planning sessions and working with youngsters.
I would not consider myself particularly strict but equally recognise the importance of keeping things professional rather than too friendly. I am happy to work in two ways. First is to go over particular areas where the student found the teaching at school did not effectively explain a subject. Second is to go through the syllabus previously taught with the aim of supporting revision and overall understanding.
