Hello! I'm Megan and I'm a primary school teacher and music specialist with 9 years experience. I studied Primary Education with Music at the University of Reading, where I achieved a First Class Honours Degree.

I love helping children achieve their full potential, and seeing them grow in confidence as they realise their hard work is paying off.

I am available most days after school, or possibly weekends in the morning. I can travel to you to make things convenient and this also ensures your child is in a comfortable environment in which to learn.

Tutoring Experience

I have taught as a primary school teacher for 9 years, both in Kent and in London. For the last 6 years, I have worked in Islington, as a class teacher and the school’s Music Leader. I have taught nursery, reception, years 2, 3, 4, and 5.

I have also previously done private 1:1 tutoring with younger and older students.

I am also offering piano or flute lessons lessons for beginners to intermediate level. I am grade 8 with distinction on the flute, grade 6 with merit on piano and have passed my music theory exam with merit.#/k#

Tutoring Approach

As a teacher who has been graded outstanding, I understand the best approaches for each child and support them in a nurturing environment, to achieve their full potential. My bespoke tutoring sessions will be planned carefully to meet your child's needs, whilst making them engaging and fun. Activities will be a mixture of written and practical, as well as short games and quizes to assess understanding. After each session, I will plan to fill any gaps in knowledge or extend further in the following session.
