Meghan

I am a motivational, kind and experienced English tutor for both English and non-English speakers. I am English born and currently live in Scotland with my family. I have a passion for teaching, have done since I was young, and I have always adored learning about the English language and studying incredible examples of English literature. I'm also a baker, baking in any spare minute I have!

Tutoring Experience

I have tutored several French and Italian native speakers in English as a foreign language. These have been both one-to-one lessons and in groups. I also currently hold a position of tutoring English native university students on their writing ability and essay structure.

Tutoring Approach

I believe that teaching should be done at the pace of the individual, with no pressure and minimal structured assessments. I find that students learn better in a relaxed environment, which is the teaching approach I take. I also believe that students will be more engaged in learning if they can be involved in the decisions of what to learn. That is why I would, as much as possible, include the student in deciding which areas they would like to focus on next.
