I enjoy being outside, whether it’s walking my gorgeous mini schnauzer or dipping into the sea for a refreshing swim. Regularly, I practice yoga at a local leisure centre and sometimes online at home. I enjoy weekly runs around my local area, although I’m still quite slow! I belong to a small, friendly book club that was set up among friends 7 years ago.
I have been teaching primary aged children for over 25 years. I work part time in a local primary school, where I have taught all year groups. I’ve been an intervention teacher for English and maths, as well as a class teacher. In addition, I work for a local tutoring company, working 1:1 and in small groups.
From my vast experience as a class teacher, intervention teacher and a tutor I ensure:
- a good relationship is established with the pupil to enable them to reach their full potential.
- Use assessment materials to assess whether they are at the expected level, working towards or greater depth.
- After undertaking training in dyslexia and neurodiversity I’m able to offer your son or daughter tailored lessons to improve their experiences in learning and to engage them.
- Regularly assess and monitor their progress.
- Work with them to increase their confidence, knowledge and abilities.
