I am based in Lanarkshire and am a highly experienced secondary school teacher & SQA marker. I'm currently in my 19th year of teaching. I have been employed in a high school setting all of this time and remain employed in a high school. I teach at all levels/yeargroups (BGE, N4, N5, Higher & Advanced Higher) and present for Higher/Advanced Higher and National 5 on a yearly basis with a strong track record of success. I am a mum of two young children who knows the importance parents place on education, confidence building and encouragement of their children. I am based in Lanarkshire and I offer a live online session only. This started out because of covid but remains my position as the families I work with have been very happy and it allows for greater flexibility of student location, session timings and of variety of materials available for revision/explanation at the click of a mouse!

Tutoring Experience

I have vast experience of teaching pupils at all levels in each year group with excellent results. As well as being an SQA marker I have recently held a temporary post as head of English in school. My time in this post has given me deep insight into drivers for improving attainment for individual pupils within their own circumstances. My past tutoring experience has been very successful typically working within the same families throughout the years and upon recommendation.

I have a friendly and professional style. I would be working to accommodate your child's particular requirements, this is to say my approach will be tailored to the individual needs of your child. My vast experience allows me to work with your child to identify areas of strength and focus if this is uncertain for you. I have been commended for my ability to build excellent working relationships with pupils to yield results and I would anticipate building your child's confidence in the same way. An organised approach is essential to maximize the time available and I would seek to ensure preparation in line with your child's requirements. Your feedback and your child's would drive my plans for each session.
