Hello! I’m Michael, a passionate tutor who has years of experience turning around the success rates and engagement of students within English. I will adopt my style to suit your requirements and the pace and delivery will be adjusted accordingly.
Additionally, I have been an examiner for AQA English Language since 2019. I have been trained and standardised by AQA and marked thousands of responses from across the UK. I know what the examiners are looking for, where marks are being lost and I would like to help you overcome these hurdles within your own studies.

Tutoring Experience

I now teach full time in a wonderful secondary school across all KS3 and KS4 groups. Previously, I taught English in an Ofsted Outstanding Sixth Form College (awarded in 2020). I have excellent success rates in all year groups. I take on a limited number of tutees each academic year to ensure you get my bespoke tuition to suit your individual needs.

Tutoring Approach

Part of engaging with any task is enjoying it; this also applies to my tuition. I strive to improve a student's total mindset towards English and as a result their academic engagement will benefit. I use personalised resources and a range of exam questions and sources to create a fully realised strategy for the exam papers.
As an experienced AQA examiner I can share insider tips and knowledge ensuring you always know how to create the best possible response to a question and the differentiation between grade boundaries and levels.
