I currently work part time as an Associate Lecturer in Science at The Open University. I have taught on four modules; SDK100-Science and Health, SK299-Human Biology, SK320-Infectious diseases and Public Health and U116-Environment: Journeys through a changing world.
This year I am teaching on two Open University modules (SDK100 and U116). This will give me more time to devote to tutoring and completing my masters degree in Public Health.
I have worked as an Associate Lecturer at the Open University since February 2016. Prior to this I worked as a Graduate Science Coach in a secondary school in Walsall. In this role I worked with small groups of KS3 & GCSE Science students and A Level Biology students.
In November 2018 I began tutoring A Level Biology and am hoping to expand my private tuition work this academic year.
I believe that developing a strong relationship with students is crucial to successful tuition. I always start tutoring by getting to know my students; their strengths, weaknesses and what they hope to achieve. This enables me to tailor my lessons to each individual student rather than taking a one size fits all approach.
