I am an experienced teacher with a firm but flexible approach to teaching. I enjoy working with tutees as it allows me to tailor my work to their specific needs.
I am available to tutor weekday evenings and term-time and am also available during the day in the school holidays. In addition to these times I am happy to offer tuition during the day to students who are not attending a school setting.
Tutoring Experience
25+ years as a teacher . I have worked in just about every age group across the Primary age range and have taught English and Religious Studies up to A level. Along with the subjects listed in my profile, I am able to help with children who struggle with phonics and reading, early writing skills including handwriting, the Year 1 phonics screening check and the new Year 4 times tables assessment. I have extensive experience of tutoring for entrance to Independent schools.
Tutoring Approach
Firm , flexible and approachable. I will listen to what you and your child need and make my recommendations accordingly. I would hope for full parental support and if possible liaison with the school ( although I am flexible on the latter! ). I can offer short or long term tutoring.
