Minica has a very warm, engaging manner and my daughter really enjoyed her introductory session with him. She’s looking forward to starting properly in September and we feel confident and reassured that Minica will get her through maths GCSE.

Mr has been an inspiring guide for my son who is currently doing his GCSE, in higher math. In a short span of time, he could identify the needs of the learner and cater his facilitation to best suit him. The exam based practices that they have done has increased my son's confidence levels and in general, his love for math. From what I have observed, two key aspects in his teaching method that has been most beneficial for my son - Mr. refuses to give direct answers and makes him think to get to a solution; a set printout of work is handed over at the end of the session, with separate answer scheme, which gives my son a concrete target . Thank you for your help.
Very kind of you Remya!

I selected Minica B after reading his other reviews and his wonderful friendly smile. Although he has more experience with children and teenagers ( obviously older than my 6 yr old) he was ( still is) fantastic with her . Not only has her maths improved , but she looks forward to him visiting. Initially , to relax her and get her settled he would do a few quick magic tricks ( using maths) which had her completely enthralled and ready to start. Now he doesn't even have to do that. She really wants to demonstrate her newly found skills and please him with her work and trying her best. Minica is very amiable and I felt completely comfortable pottering around the house whilst they got on. He was flexible with times when we did need to change or cancel on occasion and always punctual. He even gave my daughter a birthday present. I believe finding a tutor that your child actually enjoys being with is as important as the topics and new concepts they teach. My daughter has improved greatly in many areas and is so much more confident and happy to try new concepts with him. My daughter, although normally very fidgety can even concentrate for an entire hour with him. Initially I had said we would probably have to stop at 45 minutes ,but the time flew for her because he is so engaging and if she did start to lose focus would simply change what they were doing. At such a young age there are many areas for improvement and development so it worked well. I would recommend Minica to everyone seeking a Maths tutor for any age as he clearly is adaptable and highly experienced. Having his own children and such teaching experience means he completely understands children of many ages and how to engage them. I hope he has a long , successful career in teaching as he would be such a huge loss to the profession if he went anywhere else! I initially engaged Minca to give my daughter some support leading up to the SATS as I felt she really was ' scared ' of maths and panicking . However, we will no doubt continue using Minica , as I believe he has tutored many others who have passed the 11+ successfully whilst under his ' watch'
Thank you for your kind words. Really appreciate it.

Thank you for your kinds comments, but please do not forget the hard work that your daughter has done over the last 2-3 months.

Minica was chosen to tutor my son who is in Year 11 and preparing for his GCSE Maths.
The arrival time for each session varied however Minica attended every session and came fully prepared for each lesson which always ended with feedback to myself ,review of what was covered in that session and positive comments in order to inspire and motivate .
My choice of tutor was driven by the actual tuition fee shown on the First Tutor site (£30) plus travel cost added to the total fee (£7.50) ;the total fee of £37.50 agreed in order to proceed with the arrangement .
There was a small issue after a couple of weeks as Minica had done an increase from £**Telephone Number Removed** hour to the round sum of £40 “for a bit more than an hour tuition”. I queried this and it was immediately resolved and reverted back to the agreed sum without further ado for the expected 1 hour per session .
Unfortunately, I have had to cease further sessions with Minica last week as he informed me that in order to continue the lessons , there will have to be an increase in overall fee due to the additional travelling time he has been experiencing to date .
Minica`s offer “to continue for a flat fee of £40 per session (instead of the proposed one of £45) until you find a suitable tutor.” had to be declined as the offer by default cannot be defined as proper consultation or advance notification in my opinion as I would incur an immediate increase either way so rather disappointing.
First Tutors have been c.c to my emails with Minica as I now have to find a replacement .
To conclude , Minica was friendly and delivered each lesson in a quality manner in line with my son`s learning style and I would recommend him for anyone that will not incur travelling issues etc which could then negatively impact upon ongoing tutoring arrangements .
A bit of late reply, but like to put it straight: in my willingness to help students, I agreed a £37.50 per hour. However, after few sessions, it became obvious to me that the travel involved is a bit too much (over 4 miles of traveling by bike - rain or shine - to beat the afternoon road traffic). I definitely thought that an increase of £2.50 would be acceptable. Sadly, was declined.

Minica is always on time, cheerful and full of energy. He pre plans lessons with me, on behalf of my 13 year old Son either in person or sends a text as a reminder. He sets homework and corrects it which is always useful. My Son stays focussed throughout his lesson and always comments on how much clearer the Maths subject seems through Minica's teaching. I would thoroughly recommend Minica to any future pupil.
Thank you Lorna. You are very kind! But I do enjoy what I am doing.
From Rowan

Minica is perfect for my son. He explains everything very clearly, he is calm at all times and makes maths fun. He helps my son with his home work but also stretches him to prepare him for his 11+ and gives him useful tips. In my sons own words "He is so good at Maths mum, better than dad". My only regret is that we did not contact him earlier!
Thank you Camilla. Very kind of you and Leon.
