Tutoring Experience

I have over 20 years of teaching experience and have been at various schools and in various positions ranging from Intervention coordinator to Associate leader (14 years in 3 different OFSTED rated twice an “Outstanding Schools”) . This time has allowed me to gather a wealth of experience. I am able to motivate students from all backgrounds and have excellent teaching skills developed over the years by working in conjunction with and leading colleagues. Recently led a teaching team that helped the school achieve “The Good Schools Awards” For having the “Highest performing English Comprehensive School for Boys taking GCSE Science” and “Highest performing English Comprehensive School for Girls taking GCSE Science” in the whole of the United Kingdom. Currently teaching at a " World class school" internationally recognised for its excellence

Tutoring Approach

By asking the right questions during a tutoring session, you can make sure your student is actively engaged in the learning process, promoting deeper understanding of the subject matter. I will use the following techniques to name a few to develop and enhance the students learning.

1. Assessment against current grade and target grade
2. Establish their learning style (auditory, visual and kinesthetic learner) with implementation of the metacognition aspect of their learning
3. Use of power point lessons and exam questions to reinforce and progress learning
4. Assess at regular intermittent intervals to assess progress
5. To develop confidence in the subject
6. Develop exam techniques
7. Use of personalised learning applications to enable continual improvement of knowledge in between sessions

Key aspect is to make sure that their is a gradual and measurable improvement in their knowledge and confidence for their chosen subject.
