Hi, welcome to my profile! I truly love what I do having worked in the teaching profession over the past 26 years. I believe building a supportive, encouraging relationship between the child and teacher is so important to empower and engage them in their learning. Having children of my own, I appreciate the many demands placed on being a parent yet wanting the best for them. I have first hand experience of the significant impact a tutor can have on a child’s progress both from my own children and those I currently tutor. I strive to create a fun, hands-on learning experience personalised to each individual child yet focused on making rapid progress towards each step in learning.
Having worked for 26 years, 17 years of which in senior leadership within the primary school setting, my experience spans across the primary age range and curriculum subjects and can support within each subject.
I have a particular interest in children with additional needs having been a SENDCO for a number of years.
I also offer tuition for 11+ working with children in y4,5&6 preparing for entrance exams and interview techniques.
Regardless of need, all children need praise and confidence to succeed - this forms the basis of my sessions. I will provide a clear, step by step program to ensure progress in a supportive, nurturing way.
If you feel I can help, please message me and I will make contact so we can chat through how I can support your child.
I firmly believe that children will thrive and learn when they are in an environment in which they feel cared for and feel comfortable. I will work with your child in their own environment to build their confidence and support them in developing a sense of self-belief and independence whilst ensuring their individual learning needs are identified and planned for.
Having experience with KS1 & 2 across the primary curriculum allows me the insight, knowledge and resources to identify any gaps in their learning so that they can be challenged accordingly. School in general, SATS and entrance exams can all be particularly stressful for children but allowing them the opportunities to have a sense of achievement and enjoyment with their learning helps them to engage and make accelerated progress.
