I have had a passion for other languages since I was 7, when I heard French for the first time and thought how many more people I could talk to and learn about if I learnt their language. Later on in life I imagined that learning another language is rather like having a passport to another culture, a special entry into another world, if you can't travel physically. Luckily for me I could travel and as soon as i had done the minimum at college,I went to France and had a wonderful 8 years there. After that came Germany, whose language I didnt care for at school, but which entranced me as soon as I started hearing songs in German and meeting German people. After that Russia, whose language I found so beautiful and so utterly different from how it is portrayed in British stereotypical films. So I hope to pass some of this on to anyone who wants or needs some help.

Also worked as French conversation teacher at Whippingham Middle School on Isle of Wight for two school terms and at Cowes Secondary School, Isle of Wight for one term.
According to whether the tutee needs the lessons to pass an exam, catch up with school work missed or for interest only, I use whatever the tutee is interested in as subject matter for the lessons, whilst following a structure for grammar and pronunciation. I am keen on briefly revising what has been done the previous lesson so that the tutee can appreciate their progress as they go along.
